Eat To Boost Your Immune System

Coronavirus is the cause of some health anxiety right now, with many people feeling powerless and like things are out of control. Rest assured there are things you can do to support your overall health and immune system.

.

WASH YOUR HANDS: Of course we can all wash our hands, with soap and for at least 20 seconds. We can add foods that support our immune systems too!

.

ZINC: Zinc is an amazing way to support our immune health and can boost the response of our immune system. Organic, free-range red meat, oysters, ginger and pumpkin seeds are great sources of zinc.

.

GUT HEALTH: Supporting our gut health is an incredible way to support our immune systems, because more than 80% of our immune cells are there. Leafy greens, cauliflower, broccoli and probiotic foods like kimchi and sauerkraut are all great for gut health.

.

ALLIUMS: Have you heard of alliums? They’re foods like onions, leeks, garlic and shallots which boost immune cells called natural killers that work to destroy viruses in our bodies. Chop garlic and leave it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes to boost the amount of allicin, the antiviral compound.

.

Have you been adding in foods or supplements to boost your immune health?
